The First Maine Heavy Artillery CD has been created from high resolution scans of the entire original work by Horace H. Shaw and Charles J. House. That original was published in 1903. Today it is found only in the hands of collectors and in some of the larger Library Systems. Those items include:

- A comprehensive listing of Casualties, by battle
- A detailed description of the Regiment's movements and battles
- Commentary by Horace Shaw, Zemro A. Smith, and others regarding the Civil War period and the War
